Palma Nova
The hugely popular resort of Palma Nova and its nearest neighbour Magaluf, are situated on the south west coast of Mallorca, approximately 15 km west of Palma, and the Son Sant Joan International airport. The three fine curving sandy beaches at Palma Nova are very well kept and all have Blue Flag ratings for cleanliness. Many water sports are available including parasailing, windsurfing, snorkelling and scuba-diving and also land-based sports such as tennis, golf, cycling, bowling and go-karting. The long, traffic free promenade stretches along the beaches and has a sophisticated ambience with dozens of restaurants offering British, Chinese, French, Italian and Mexican cuisine. The resort also bristles with fast food outlets of all descriptions as well as countless shops and bars. Palma Nova has a reputation both as a hedonistic, nightlife-oriented area while also being a spot suitable for families with young children. Visitors come to party and play on the beach and are not expecting to experience 'old Majorca '. Nearby attractions include Palma City, Marineland, Golf Fantasia and the Nemo submarine ship.
